<aside> 💡 I keep on coming back to this question. So I really need to read this before I even consider RemNote again

Tick these if they are in Notion
[x] Backlinking
[ ] Portals
I can create portals using the Global Block extension, which (I am sure) will one day be included within Notion.
[x] Search
[x] Hierarchy
I'm not sure I even want a hierarchy system within my notes. Besides, I can create the same thing with tabs in Notion. Notion also has a greater number of ways documents can be tagged and manipulated. With things like kanban boards, it is much, much more visual in how things can be manipulated.
[ ] Flashcards
Yup, this is the main appeal of RemNote. But I have Anki. And Anki has a huge history behind it and I have a big record of cards on Anki.
update March 29, 2021 : Anki also links to DuoLingo, which is handy.
It also has better uploading on mobile.
Update March 29, 2021 : Having spent some more time considering RemNote for its flashcard functions and portal functions, I have been very tempted to switch and so have been trying out RemNote.
Notion is still the better choice as, despite not having flashcard functionality, it presents and sorts and organises notes so much better with its sorting and filtering system. RemNote does it in such an ugly way. Notion makes my notes look beautiful, meaning I am more likely to enjoy using it.
Flashcard functionality is provided through Anki anyway - especially mobile, which is where I find myself adding most cards (pictures etc, which is very high friction with RemNote right now.
